Will 60FPS on Hz monitor look bad? Thread starter mrsharan Start date Jan 11, Sidebar Sidebar. Forums Hardware Systems. JavaScript is disabled. Jan 9, 6 0 4, 0.Can anyone please tell me why my game is randomly being locked at 60fps, when I am running a hz monitor? And please don't tell me to turn v-sync off - I have tried, getting fps but it still feels like 60hz. If your vsync locks it to 60fps that usualy means you havent chosen correct resolution with refresh rate for your monitor.

You actually have to choose the correct resolution with correct refresh rate from gpu controls in my case that is nvidia controlpanel or something like that in english. Otherwise it will automatically at least for me choose the 60hz instead of hz.

Decreto n. 17036 del 27/12/2019 rettifiche ed integrazioni

I have been using a hz monitor for a long time now, it is working absolutely fine on PUBG and GTA 5 - just this game it doesn't like for some reason. I'll post my settings later Also what do you use to measure FPS? Badly installed drivers can nerf frames as well. It's not a frame issue - when disabling v-sync I am getting fps, but my monitor still feels like 60hz. I don't care what it feels like, or how many fps it shows without Vsync. But if you get 60 with vsync on, it doesn't matter how much over 60 you would get without it turned on.

You have done something wrong, so try harder and you will get your result. Maybe you can try to check nvidia experience settings, just a tip. There could be different things happening, for example, I don't know how it works, but game sometimes drops "packets" and this results in stutter, maybe something like this is happening to you even if you run it on fps, game because of client to server connection "feels" like 60hz.

I don't have hz monitor to try it out, so I can't confirm or deny if there might be some other problems. As expected, no one on here has any clue what they're talking about.

I have been using hz for roughly 5 years now, I know when a game is capping my monitor to 60hz and for some reason ONLY this game is doing it. I own and use hz monitor with this game no issues at all. Simply apply hz OC in monitor OSD and select p resolution and refresh rate of hz in nvidia control panel. Works perfectly in dx11 and dx12 mode. I would check your program settings for HnG in nvidia control panel and see if it has a framerate target set or if it is forcing vsync on or off, also make sure "prefer maximum performance is" your chosen power option.

Alternatively reset program settings for HnG to default, this should get your monitor working correctly provided hz is selected as your monitor refresh rate in nvidia control panel. If you have Vsync on and you get 60fps this is the most usual mistake. Select correct resolution with the correct refresh rate and then your Vsync should cap it to fps. I have this funny feeling you have never used your screen correctly.March Starting a couple of days ago, I've been locked at 60 FPS. I can't figure out what's wrong.

I've checked all my settings. I've even tried re-installing Windows from scratch. The strange thing is that I didn't make any changes before this started happening. Just a quick update. This is completely bizarre.

Refresh Rate vs. Frames Per Second

I've been using my computer at Hz for at least a year now. Why this new problem? March - last edited March I experienced a similar issue where battlefield was locked at 29hz with a 60hz monitor.

I had to reinstall windows to fix that. This widget could not be displayed. Help us improve Answers HQ! Take Survey No, Thanks. Sign In or Register. See details Show less. Turn on suggestions. 60fps vsync on 144hz monitor

Jan 9, 6 0 4, 0. I'm upgrading from a 60Hz monitor to a Hz panel. I understand that refresh rate is the number of times a monitor outputs a new frame, and if the FPS exceeds the refresh rate, it may cause screen tearing. So, running at 60FPS on a Hz panel means that a new frame is updated every 2 refreshes and everything will look okay. On a Hz panel however, running a game at 60FPS means a frame is updated every 2. How is that gonna look on the screen?

I also know this is why G-Sync exists, so that the GPU can tell the monitor when to refresh, therefore having a variable refresh rate, but will it look bad without G-Sync?Forums New posts Search forums. New posts New posts New profile posts Latest activity.

Thread starter sblantipodi Start date Dec 1, Joined Aug 29, Messages 3, As title. Is Hz monitors better than 60Hz one at around 60fps?

Is response time better anyway even at 60fps? Have an rtxti here and considering the upgrade of the Acer Predator XBHK 4k 60hz with the Acer Nitro XV 4k Hz I'm playing non fast games like action rpg and at 4k I rarely goes over 60fps but I can clearly see some ghosting on my predator 60hz. Is ghosting be reduced by switching to a hz monitor even at 60fps?

Every panel type will have different levels of ghosting. Some are configured worse than others from the factory. Joined Jul 5, Messages 1, Streuwinkel n00b. Joined Dec 3, Messages But the questions remains unanswered.

If you have a good 60Hz model, there is nothing a Hz monitor can improve upon short of inserting interpolated frames to turn 60fps into fps at the cost of some input lag.Menu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread. Search titles only. Search Advanced search….

I heard turning Vsync on will fix it but my question is, won't that cap my fps at 60 making it pointless to have a Hz monitor? Or does it cap it at your monitors refresh rate so for my case it'd be ? Jul 4, 10, 21 44,
